The trees are bare root, that means that the tree is dug out of the ground and it is shipped without any dirt. They are kept alive by means of refrigeration equipment.
When trees are shipped to you, they are ready to grow. You can order any time and I will keep them in cold storage until the day you want me to ship them. You must be ready to plant them when you receive them. Trees can be kept in a refrigerator for a few days, but you will not be able to put a 48" long package in your fridge unless you are a butcher, a grocer or a funeral director. I can ship trees from the Spring until sometime in June, or July, but the earlier you plant them, the more chance the tree will have of establishing a good root system and growing a few more feet. Trees planted on early Spring should grow 6 to 7 feet on the first year, 10 feet in subsequent years.
There will be also choice of clones. We will not plant all 31 clones, but the most populars to make sure there is a flavor for everyone, following Basking & Robins strategy.
We have not figured out pricing yet, but it will be way below what any catalog you may find, and not only that, my trees are guaranted to grow, and are the best stock you can get anywhere.
