Marker Yarn
|
I know how frustrating it is to try and plant 600 cuttings by yourself without
any markers around, and put them in the right places. It will take you
longer to plan how you are going to do it, that it will be doing the job. I
know, I went thru that many years back. Well, I may have a solution to that
dilema, at least, my idea will make it easier. I have what I call "RECICLED YARN". 1000 ft. of yarn, that is clearly marked at fixed intervals. The way you use it, you want to lay two parallel runs of this yarn along both sides of the field you are going to plant. Anchor both ends of the yarn securely. Now, lay another run across the field from the begining of one of the runs to the other. This will be the first row of trees. After planting that row, move that yarn down one mark on both sides, and plant the second row. If you have helpers, they can be adding more markers while you plant. I have this yarn marked at intervals from 4 to 9 feet. (I mark it on demand) The yarn itself is recycled, short pieces, bits and ends of odd colors. In any case you are not paying for the yarn but by the labor in putting the marks on it. The job is very time consuming but the markings are very accurate.
If you are interested in getting some of this yarn, you will find it under
the Everything else category in my
Pennsylvania store. You may get one or two spools of yarn. This is due
to the different thicknesses I might be using. In any case I will send you
1000 feet. |
