FREE CUTTINGS OFFER
|
This year I decided to start the FREE offers early. This offer will let you see what a hybrid poplar looks like, and will give you hands-on experience planting a few of them. Hopefully next season you will decide to buy some cuttings or trees from us. Be aware, these cuttings have the potential of being 90 foot tall trees in about 11 years! Last year we gave away several thousand cuttings. Many of them failed to meet the expectations. From email received from many of the people who got the free cuttings, the overwhelming reason for the cuttings not performing as advertised was the lack of water. Most people confessed that after the initial watering about 1 week went by before they water them again. Next reason, the importance of planting them right away was ignored and the cuttings just died. Now that we know what happened, If you are going to get some of these cuttings, keep in mind these two factors, they could mean the difference between success and failure.
This
is what you get: This is what you send:A check or money order for $3.20 and if possible a label with your name. The $3.20 is the postage that has to be attached to the box the cuttings are shipped in. Since the cuttings are perishable they must be transported as quickly as possible, that is the reason we use USPS Priority mail. It takes 3 days (that is the USPS says it will take) to get there. This is where you send it:
Free
Cuttings This is what you will do if you want to succeed: Before you receive your cuttings, prepare three holes (post hole digger is ideal for this) about 6 inches in diameter by about 15 inches deep. Now wait for your cuttings... The day they arrive, take half of the soil from one of the holes and mix it well with the Stockabsorb (a bucket will make this operation easier). Put that mixture in one of the holes. Plant all three cuttings and fill the holes with the remaining soil. Cuttings should be about 7 inches into the ground, so that only one bud can be seen and it should be pointing up (very important)! Tamp the soil, you don't need a mound, rather a small depression to keep water within the area. Water generously and you are done for the day. Continue watering the cuttings every day for the next 30 days, more often if it gets too hot. After a month or so, you can start watering about twice a week. You must baby these trees for the first year. After this first season they take care of themselves. Why polymer? The Stockabsorb was designed with the farmer in mind. When you mix it with the soil under a tree, (which is what you are doing) each granule of the product will enlarge many times its size if water comes in contact with it. It will retain the water without letting it evaporate for indefinite periods of time. The water will be available to the roots and will not seep down to be ground water. I include only one teaspoon (enough for one tree) so you can see the difference the product makes as the trees grow. Stockabsorb's benefits are not limited to poplar trees, you can use in your garden where it will continue to work for you for up to 5 years, or use it in your potted plants to avoid evaporation. Farmers use it at the rate of 2 lbs. per acre. Shipping Times We will be making three shipments of the free cuttings: March 13, April 10 and May 15. This is done to avoid confusion at the farm. If your check is received before March 13, your cuttings will be part of the first shipment, the same goes for the other two shipments. This offer is limited to the continental USA only. One free box per person please! All boxes are already prepackaged, so please don't ask for substitutions. One thing I have to ask you to in return for the free cuttings. I want to find out how these cuttings will perform in all areas of the USA, so, if you have planned in getting free cuttings, please add your name now to the FREE CUTTINGS list. At the end of the growing season I will send you an email requesting you to inform me how your cuttings performed. This list will not be used for any other purpose. If you are interested in receiving updates on sales and stuff like that, you can subscribe to my regular mailing list where you get all the specials announcements and special sales information.
