I offer a fertilizer that comes in packets called Booster-paks, one pak is enough for one tree for 18 months. The formula of these paks is 18-6-6 plus calcium, magnesium and boron.

Another item I offer is Mycorrhizal fungus. Its purpose is to form a bond between the fertilizer and the roots. Without it, much of the fertilizer and other nutrients in the soil will be wasted. Item PF01 100 bags of Booster-pak 10 grams of 18-6-6 plus sulfur, calcium, manganese, iron, boron, copper and zinc. $18.50. You can give Booster paks to existing trees, just put them in the drip line, just below the soil surface. Keep in mind the bio-packs are only 10 grams, enough for very small trees, therefore, if you are feeding a larger tree, increase the dose accordingly.
Item PF02 Plant Success Soluble formula comes in 8 oz. bags, enough to make 100 gallons of mix. I broke it down to small portions, each bag is good to make 1 gallon of the mix. This is good for me, since only one time application is required. 2 gallons of the mix was enough to treat all my house plants. I just watered them with it. I will treat all my trees with a 6 gallon spray mixer. 1.00 per bag.

Watersorb
What else should you add to the ground before you plant? If you are concerned with not being able to water your trees on time, or if your soil is very sandy and water just goes thru it, you could add Watersorb, a polymer that retains water. I sell this by the pound, but, be aware, do not use too much of this or you will drown your plants. Use as much as a tablespoon of watersorb for each tree, no more. The watersorb has to be mixed well with the soil prior to planting the tree or cuttings. It is not always practical to use watersorb, for instance when you plant cuttings by just making a hole in the ground and placing the cutting in it.

How else can you use watersorb? Industry is using this in a lot of different applications. Put some water in a plastic bag, some food coloring, a pinch of watersorb, seal it (zip-lock won't do it, it has to be sealed) and you have a hot or cold compress which you can use in the microwave. For freezer use add some sugar to prevent it from getting hard. these compresses sell for $16 each at the drugstore. The latest scream in uses... sanitary napkins.
