While I don't guarantee the fo-ti will make your hair black again, there are lots of claims in the Internet that tell you not only that, but they insist that you will get your lost hair back. There are many other claims about this plant including liver, kidneys, colesterol, bronchitis, etc. According with many web sites, Fo-ti is hardy to -15 degrees, zone 5A. They lied. I planted a fo-ti plant last summer here in zone 6b. The plant grew nicely to about 4 times the size I planted. Winter was not that bad, however, the plant died. This means, the range of this plant is zones 6-8 but do not plant it outside in zone 6 I have also read that fo-ti is invasive in zone 8, Since it does not tolerate a lot of heat and sunlight, it should be grown in the shade. The information below is from my personal experience. I started taking a cup of tea on a daily basis on January 1, I used 8 oz of water and 1 tsp of fo-ti root which I took from one of my plants. When I ran out of that, I started using some cured Fo-Ti root that I purchased from an outfit in New Jersey. I missed taking the tea a few days, here and there, but that was not done on purpose. My hair has been falling off for the last 15 years and I have very little by now. Whatever is left it has also been turning gray.
