Landscape Trays
or Bonkei
Picture 5 trees in a shallow container. To the right is what can be done with small trees in containers. These particular spruce trees are over 30 years old.

It takes a long time to learn how to grow the trees, but if you are persistent, you can make this a life long project you can be proud of.

I just planted 5 Red Maple trees in a tray. It is up to you to make them look stunning. First of all, learn about bonsai styles. There are plenty of web sites dedicated to teaching you everything you will need to know to do bonsai, from the very basic moves to the most advanced techniques. You can get started by visiting this web site which has plenty of bonsai links, or This one which deals with maples only.

One thing you will have to remember about these trees... they are outdoor trees and need to have their seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. In other words, they will prefer to be outdoors most of the time enjoying the sunshine, however, you can bring them in for short periods of time. Just be sure their natural cycle is not interrupted and they are allowed to drop their leaves in the fall, and start the cycle all over in the Spring.

These 5 trees are already wired to the container and are growing... in fact, it is time to prune them!.

During the winter you can water these about every week. Any time the trees are growing, they should be watered daily. Put enough water so it runs out of the holes on the bottom. Trees in containers should be fertilized with certain frequency, I do it every 3 weeks.

The brown plastic tray is 9X6X2 inches and it comes with a saucer to match. I put together a few of these trays, their photos are below. Since each tray is different, I took a picture of every one of them, you order them by the number, that way you get exactly what you want.

This landscape tray (5 red maple trees, tray and saucer) is worth well over $70+. I am offering it for a total of $40.00 each, all shipping and handling is included. Trays are shipped via USPS Priority mail.

The perfect gift for that senior citizen who has plenty of free time and little to do. A few minutes a day spent taking care of the tray will help.
